Design Engineer
Co-op opportunities may exist in the following areas:- Engine Design
- Chassis Design
- ATV/Motorcycle Design
- Electrical Design
- Body Design - Upper and Under Body
- Exterior Design
Educational Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering (Sophomore Year Completed)
- Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Experience with the following software: Excel, Power Point, Word and CAD
- Completed statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, drafting, 3D CAD (Preferably CATIA)
- Involvement with the Mini-Baja/Formula SAE/etc. and CAD design experience a plus
Task/Area Responsibilities:
- Assist design engineers in developing / designing of future models. Responsible for supporting design engineers in the creation of drawings.
- Activities may include (but not limited to):
CAD design, creating Excel spreadsheets, creating Powerpoint documents, cost & weight calculations, attending meetings, working with other design/test groups, suppliers, factory, etc.

Vehicle Research
Co-op opportunities may exist in the following areas:NVH, HVAC, Interior Packaging and Performance, Exterior Performance, Brakes, Steering, Handling/Suspension, Dynamic Performance, Device Development, Body Reliability, Chassis Reliability, CAE-Reliability, Front Crashworthiness, Side Crashworthiness, Safety Component Performance,
Simulation, Electrical Test, Engine Test, Transmission Design & Test
Educational Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering (Sophomore Year Completed)
- Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
- Experience with the following software: Excel, Power Point and Word
- Completed statics, dynamics and mechanics of materials
- Involvement with the Mini-Baja/Formula SAE/etc. a plus
Task/Area Responsibilities: Activities may include (but not limited to):
- Support the development of vehicle testing and countermeasure analysis
- Supporting problem and data analysis as well as countermeasures
- Supporting test set-up, data acquisition, monitor and record activities
- Competitor vehicle performance testing and reporting results

Materials Research
Co-op opportunities may exist in the following areas:
Educational Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Four year degree in Chemistry/Polymer Engineering, Materials, or Metallurgical Engineering (Sophomore Year Completed)
- Experience with the following software: Excel, Word, and Power Point
- Completed the following courses - Analytical and Organic Chemistry or Ferrous Materials
- Test equipment experience
Task/Area Responsibilities:
- Test equipment maintenance
- Testing and final reports based on data collected
- Contact and discuss information with Suppliers and Manufacturing
- Assist with actual material testing

Information Systems
Co-op opportunities may exist in the following areas:
Educational Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Four year degree in Mechanical Engineering (Sophomore Year Completed)
- Experience with the following software: CAD (CATIA a plus), FEA software, Microsoft Office
Task/Area Responsibilities:
CAE Helper
- Create on-line training manuals for CAE Software by using Adobe Framemaker / CATIA software, use UNIX shell commands, use Microsoft Office / IBM Websphere Studio or other web publishing tools to develop HTML based manuals for other CAE Software.
CAD Assistant
- Maintain data prototype model for car projects. Use CATIA Software to correctly format models, use DMU Navigator to check models.
- Maintain CATIA CBT. Use Adobe Framemaker / CATIA Software to make required changes to CBT Software, use UNIX Shell commands.
- Investigate CATIA V5 Software. Create part models as directed by engineer and document results with WEB development tools.
